CAPE FLATTERY is the most Northwestern point in the continental United States

(circled on the map below), located on the Makah Indian Reservation in the State

of Washington. Vancouver Island (Canada) is to the North.

Above is a rough estimation of where the observation decks are located along the hike.

The Cape Flattery trail

• The "hand" tree -- Part of the trail is covered with boards, usually where it's especially mucky.
• almost to the top -- The trail is downhill one way... which means uphill going back. :)

Port Townsend

• Manresa Castle -- built in 1892 for Charles and Kate Eisenbeis. Charles was Port Townsend's first Mayor.
• Port Townsend ferry and mountains -- The ferry boat is in dock and will return to Keystone across the Puget Sound.
