That's the difference."
"Guess so. Likin' them is another thing."
"Sure. They different people, you know..."
[Sula] only heard Hannah's words, and the pronouncement sent her flying
up the stairs. In bewilderment, she stood at the window fingering the
curtain edge, aware of a sting in her eye.
Questions:
1) Do you think this overheard comment has anything to do with why Sula
watched her mother burn to death shortly after?
2) What is the difference between liking and loving? Do you think it's
possible to love someone, but not like them?
